Adam’s behavior represents repetitive behaviors, interests and actions he performs. It is viewed that Adam lost his job because he was told the company was losing money in his obsession to detail and recurring comportment. Adam worked in a toy company and always seemed to be fixated about having all his material a certain way. Adam always insists in having everything a specific way, it is the same routine every single day that he follows. For example, he has the routine of always eating the same meal everyday. He has his box of macaroni meals aligned in a certain order in his freezer. He sits in the same location to have his same meal everyday. He also has an obsession with observing raccoons late at night at the park. He sees the raccoons as uncommon in New York, but in reality they are common. His basic routine is to wake up, go to work, eat and go to sleep. It is a specific routine he has and he is unable to break it. It is only until he meets Beth that she encourages him and gets him to try different things, but even then it is very difficult for Adam to break his routine. Beth also sets up a meeting for Adam, without him knowing, and her parents to meet. Adam finds out from Beth that her father had been legally accused of some fraud. When they meet Adam starts asking her father direct questions that are making Beth, her father and mother uncomfortable. Adam is unable to read their body language that shows discomfort with his questions. Beth is furious and later explains to Adam what has just occurred. Beth eventually forgives Adam for being indiscreet and they sleep together. It is not revealed any significant developmental issues in Adam’s history in the video. The strengths are talked about and deficiencies are not mentioned nor taken into consideration to promote the strengths. It is a way to inspire resilience to clients. Resilience would make clients overcome stressors in a quicker pace. Strengths perspective would be helpful because the client would only focus on the positive thoughts. Adam could benefit from strengths perspective in order to promote his abilities. Adam has a lot of knowledge about space and that is one of his strengths that could be acknowledge. He manages to break everyday routine by spending more time with Beth. Adam goes out of his way to go out with Beth to restaurants, street, park, gatherings and other locations that Beth takes him. Adam manages to overcome a lot of his fears and obstacles produced by Asperger’s syndrome by meeting Beth.
