Arsenal football club is known to be one of the biggest football clubs in the world. But many people do not know what they did to be where they are now. Arsenal has sacrificed a lot to get here, but they kept a straight mind and did what is right. There are other clubs in Europe such as Chelsea and Manchester City that achieved success by skipping and forgetting the fundamentals in building a modern day super club that will only see them eventually folding just like Portsmouth, Leeds United, and Blackburn. Arsenal has built their club that will guarantee them long term success in the future and will always be known as a top club, this is why the way Arsenal built their club is much smarter than the way Chelsea and Manchester City did. The first step in becoming a modern day super club in Europe, a club needs to have a world class manager, and on September 30, 1996 that is exactly what they did. When Arsene Wenger came to Arsenal, he held his head high after leading the Japanese team Nagoya Grampus to their best league position at the team in second place, but the Premier League is much more advance than the Japanese league. Straight away when Arsene Wenger came here he implemented a diet plan into the players. The diet plan was the first time to be used in the modern game. Instead of eating meats, the players would eat more fish and vegetables. This increased the player’s performances and saw better results into the team. Before Arsene Wenger, Arsenal was known as a boring side that will only win 1-0 as the song goes “One nil to the Arsenal”. But that all changed with Arsene Wenger. Arsene Wenger revolutionized the game by bringing this new brand of free flowing attacking football that has never been seen before. The Chicago Cubs are an interesting part of Illinois history, even if they are not always successful. The history of Wrigley Field, the famous players, and the stories behind every game are why Chicago loves the Cubs. It is the atmosphere of the friendly confines when you walk in through those gates. It is jumping out of your seat when the ball is being hit out of the park. It is things as little as singing the 7th inning stretch with all the other Cub fans around you. Rooting for the underdog is special, and that is why Cub fans are so loyal. The history, players, and stories of Chicago Cubs Baseball are the reasons why it is an important part of Illinois history.
Dennis Sheard, (the coach of the A team) was mainly focusing this particular training session on footwork and communication as he felt that the team lacked both these factors during their previous Saturday match. The following are a few quotes from Dennis
Kevon Grant is a hardworking, passionate and devoted soccer coach. He is a head coach at super soccer stars, Los Angeles California, where he teaches kids the fundamentally of the beautiful game (soccer). Through his trainings, coach kevon has developed numerous attacking routines, he confirmed his faith in attacking football, stating that the key to players development was freedom. His players are given immense freedom to dribble and adopt to playing situations, instead of being restricted with two and three touches on the ball. His approach to give players freedom and his attacking routines are two of the key stone behind Grant’s success. He won the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) region championship working with the organization.
As a result of it’s fair share of money among all twenty clubs, the Barclays Premier league is the best league. The English league has been the only league that evenly distributes its earnings in television money to all of it’s clubs since it was first created in 1992(HubPages). The even distribution in the Barclays Premier allows for all clubs to invest in better squads,which makes the league fairly competitive. Such fair system of distribution isn’t the same for many of today's best known leagues, as they decide to give a bigger sum of money to the big clubs in the league and a small amount to the smaller clubs. This system only makes their league less competitive as there is not many clubs in the league that can afford to invest in bigger squads. As the Barclay’s Premier league continues to earn mo...
Sir Matt busby retired leaving the club with no manager, but the image and success that Matt brought to the club and to the football team had to be kept intact. Matt Busby's position had to be filled, however, there were some issues over here as the club owners were indecisive on whom to appoint to the managerial post. The idea of choosing Matt's successor was someone whom Matt had worked with before, so that this person would know the ins and outs of this prestiguos football club. The choice made by mu's owners was none other than Wilf McGuinness, a former player and coach of Manchester United. Even though Wilf tried his best to take over from Sir Matt Busby, even though Wilf tried his best to continue winning titles for United, he could never win over the Old Trafford faithful, nor was he able to bring in co-ordination amongst players. Age factor of the players was also a major issue to his inability to run the team as efficiently as Sir Matt Busby. To add insult to injury, George Best’s “lover boy” attitude and actions off the pitch didn’t help and to make it worse, Dennis Law, United’s prolific striker, was put for sale in the transfer market.
He is not being professional as he was in the pitch as he has to be himself now. No fillers are used in the pitch, which suggests that he is being professional and intelligent hoping that would influence the Dragons.’
The greatest game of my life has arrived. Playing on the half forward flank allowed me to create fast run from stoppages. As the shiny sherrin floated into our forward half I grabbed the ball at the highest point. The nerves were all gone when I marked the ball. Lining up for the first goal of the game was an uneasy challenge. As I was walking in to kick the goal the animals were chanting discourteous calls about our school. As it left my black boot it was up to nature to decide if it was going through the tall sticks. Unfortunately it missed to the left side by a metre, I felt frustrated, as my dream could have become a reality. As the game played on I was so proud of the effort and exertion the team was showing. As the game reached half time we were up by 2 points. As I looked into the 21 players eyes I felt the endeavour that wanted to be achieved in the next
Commonly referred to as the “home of football”, England has held an extremely important place in world soccer throughout the centuries. Because of the nation’s esteemed position within the sport, the beautiful game has become an integral part of the English national identity. However, after a brief period of post-WWII economic and football prominence, the country experienced a sharp decline in both areas that spanned from the late 1960s to the early 1980s. During this time, the parallel decay of England’s performance in football (accompanied by its stagnating economy and deteriorating position on the world stage) contributed to a national myth of ‘lagging-behind foreigners’ that led to racism on and off the field. This piece starts with a brief history of the English national team (the most prestigious representation of football within the country), and then delves deeper into the relationship between the team (commonly known Three Lions), national identity, and national memory. The mythology surrounding the ’66 all-white English football team’s World Cup victory had a long-term negative effect on England up until the late 1980s: it contributed to a shared past that limited the integration of minorities into the English national community, created unrealistic expectations for English performance in both football an...
Sir Alex Chapman Ferguson, a football living legend was born on 31st December, 1941 in Glasgow, Scotland. In his entire lifespan as a football player and a manager, he has been one of the most consistent and remarkable name in the game. He was a former football player at the Scottish football team and has also played for various English clubs. He became the top goal scorer by scoring 31 goals in the Scottish League. Later, in 1974, his career as a football manager got a kick start when he was elected as the manager of a team called East Stirlingshire. Afterwards, he was shifted to many clubs and was elected for the same post in the clubs including St. Mirren and Aberdeen. Also, he got elected as the manager of Scotland’s international team and led them for a year. In the year 1986 his path to glory started when he was elected as the manager of one of the most popular and one of the biggest football club of the prevailing time ‘Manchester united’. He has been on the same post since then and his career of 26 years at Manchester United has been one of the most glorious and exciting one for any manager in the world of sports. He is charismatic, smart, and flexible and his workaholic type attitude has profited the team as a whole in so many ways and thus he is an important and influential part of the team. He has led the team on the victory path from 6 November, 1986 to 19 May, 2013 when he announced his retirement. This period witnessed the Manchester United with a win percentage of 59.67 %.

The topic I have chosen for research paper is HOOLIGANISM in football. Although football hooliganism only became recognized by government and the media as a serious problem in the 1960s, hooligan behavior at football has a long history. Between the wars, football generally became more ‘respectable’ and crowd problems diminished but did not disappear. As far as most football fans at top matches are concerned, hooliganism no longer seems to be a terribly serious problem. In 2000, 19% of all FA Premier League fans reported they had witnessed hooliganism or missile throwing at matches in the 1999/2000 season. When asked which are the serious problems facing the game today FA Premier League fans pointed to ticket prices, ‘big business’ and kick-off times. Only 28% highlighted hooliganism. Also, in 2001 only 7% of all FA Premier League club supporters thought hooliganism was actually increasing as a problem at football. In the Football League, hooliganism seems to be a problem around a relatively small number of clubs and specific matches. However, the NCIS annual list of football incidents seems more likely these days to involve rivals from noted Football League clubs than supporters of the larger FA Premier League outfits. In the recent years, under the guidance of Coach Josep Guardiola, football club Barcelona won the Spanish league title “La Liga” in three consecutive years. In the year 2009, Barcelona became the first Spanish team ever to win three trophies in a row, Champions League, Copa del Rey and La Liga in one season. In addition to the national titles, the team has won eighteen European titles by far and FIFA Club World Cup title in the year 2009. This current season, the team has struggled to reach the final stage of Champions League and shall compete with club Manchester United for the European Cup. Barcelona has been tagged as the one of the top teams in Europe. The squad is recognized for its highly experienced and talented players that have consistently held on to their achievements through team work and clear vision. There are certain reasons that are responsible for a team to be successful. Team building, team performance and psychological aspects are the essential factors that contribute to the positive outcome of a team.
The turnover of their players was mainly caused by the upsetting of the Gunners. After 2004, Arsenal F.C. did not further put resources to strengthen their squad. They changed their philosophy to develop youngsters. It was not a problem for a club to develop for the future, however, Gunners did not sign some experienced players to lead the youngsters. It is impossible for a talented player developing their potential without the help of experienced players. The legendary Manchester United F.C. manager Sir Alex Ferguson, decided to develop the young players with the help of experienced players. One of the football star Cristiano Ronaldo was trained by two experience players, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs when he was still a youngster. Cristiano stated that he would like to thanks the tutoring of Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes when he just arrived Man Utd on his personal Twitter. When Cristiano Ronaldo joined Manchester United, He was just a trickster. His trick was scolded by Scholes and Scholes told him to focus on pragmatic football. At the same time, Giggs taught him how to analyze the situation on the pitch. Cristiano Ronaldo became more mature and helped Manchester United win the triple include English Community Shield, English Premier League and Eur...
Real Madrid’s academy, La Fábrica, or ‘The Factory’ in English, is located in Cuidad Real Madrid, the cutting age training facilities located on the outskirts of Madrid in Valdebas. The academy is ranked 10th worldwide. Despite being a key contributor to Real Madrid’s success throughout the club’s history, La Fábrica is widely considered an underrated academy. In the 1980s, the club experienced a streak of success largely due to homegrown players, including five consecutive La Liga titles, two consecutive Eufa cups, and reaching three consecutive Uefa Champions League Semi-Finals. The importance of youth players in Madrid is, however, overshadowed by the club’s tendency to purchase superstar players instead of creating them, a trend instigated by the implement of Galacticos, a policy created to build Real Madrid as an unstoppable team of world-renown players. The era of Galacticos is still prominent in Real Madrid today;
