Toni Collette seems to be that rare creature – a born actress. At the age of 11 she faked appendicitis so convincingly that doctors performed surgery on her, even though medical tests all showed there was nothing wrong. She has a face which effortlessly transmits emotion to an audience, and the instinctive ability to inhabit a character so completely that few people actually know what Toni looks like in real life. (Much prettier than on camera, is the general verdict).
Born and raised in working class Blacktown, Sydney, she dropped out of the National Institute of the Dramatic Arts to work in film and theatre. At 21 she stole our hearts as the plump, naive, ABBA-loving Muriel Heslop from Porpoise Spit, in P.J. Hogan's cult film Muriel's Wedding, and was then catapulted into the world of Hollywood, Broadway, fame, wealth, awards, and celebrity. She went on to star in films such as The Sixth Sense, About a Boy, and Little Miss Sunshine, and since 2009 has played the title role in the Spielberg-produced TV show, The United States of Tara.
In 2002, she met Dave Galafassi, the drummer for Sydney indie band Gelbison, at a barbequeue. She describes him as "balanced, patient, and beautiful," and says she knew straight away that he was "the one". In January 2003, Toni and Dave were married at her country house in south-coast Broughton. They had a Buddhist ceremony which lasted an entire weekend, and featured dancing monks, vegetarian banquets, and a fireworks display.
Their first child, Sage Florence, was born in Sydney on January 9 2008. When she announced her pregnancy the previous July, she noted, "It is strange that in the last three films I've done [my character has] been pregnant. I'm just like, what is the universe tryin...

... a name doing well at the moment, and no doubt climbing up the charts. Just as Toni Collette manages to be the celebrity who could be just like you, she's won further esteem by choosing a baby name that's just what everyone else would have chosen.
I don't know if I'm quite so in love with the name Arlo as everyone else; I'm not a fan of either folk music or 24, and I must confess I have a perverse side to me that quickly goes off names greeted with universal acclaim. However, I think it sounds great with the middle name Robert, is a brilliant match with sister Sage, and Arlo Galafassi is just wonderful. As context is everything, I hereby award Arlo Robert Galafassi a thumbs up!

Emiliano Zapata, born on August 8, 1879, in the village of Anenecuilco, Morelos (Mexico), Emiliano Zapata was of mestizo heritage and the son of a peasant medier, (a sharecropper or owner of a small plot of land). From the age of eighteen, after the death of his father, he had to support his mother and three sisters and managed to do so very successfully. The little farm prospered enough to allow Zapata to augment the already respectable status he had in his native village. In September of 1909, the residents of Anenecuilco elected Emiliano Zapata president of the village's "defense committee," an age-old group charged with defending the community's interests. In this position, it was Zapata's duty to represent his village's rights before the president-dictator of Mexico, Porfirio Díaz, and the governor of Morelos, Pablo Escandón. During the 1880s, Mexico had experienced a boom in sugar cane production, a development that led to the acquisition of more and more land by the hacienderos or plantation owners. Their plantations grew while whole villages disappeared and more and more medieros and other peasants lost their livelihoods or were forced to work on the haciendas. It was under these conditions that a plantation called El Hospital neighboring Zapata's village began encroaching more and more upon the small farmers' lands. This was the first conflict in which Emiliano Zapata established his reputation as a fighter and leader. He led various peaceful occupations and re-divisions of land, increasing his status and his fame to give him regional recognition.
Dagoberto Gilb was born in Los Angeles in 1950. A mix of gritty humor, mundane terror, and economic misfortune distinguishes his short stories. His life has been neither easy nor subdued, and these influences are reflected in his writing style and choice of subject matter. Without a doubt there is one major performer that certainly stands out within our pop culture world. The name of this very famous American icon is, Dolly Parton. Dolly has surpassed any rags to riches story that ever lived. She has touched the lives of so many individuals over many decades through her many talents. Dolly started her career at a very young age and continued fulfilling her life endeavors through country music, pop music, and even acting. This American icon didn’t stop with just her talents, she also gave back to our society through charity, fundraising, and establishing her own theme park. Dolly Parton was brought up in a very poor family, however through much dedication she became the famous icon everyone idolized today.

Aside from Darren Aronofsky’s ability to visually tell breathtaking stories, it is his formalistic style of filmmaking that has earned him his recognition in the film industry. Born on February 12, 1969 in Brooklyn, New York, Darren was a self described "Brooklyn Hip-Hop kid." His upbringing was marked by his Jewish heritage. Darren would paint graffiti art on subway cars and film going in Times Square. He had a lot of inspiration around him that led him to have a passion for film and all types of art. He had said himself that one of his biggest inspirations for becoming a director was Spike Lee’s film She’s Gotta Have It because of the relation between the New Yorkers in the film and his own experience in Brooklyn. After attending Harvard University, Aronofsky won many awards for his senior thesis film Super Market Sweep at the American Film Institute. Soon after he began writing Pi, which also had nominations for best cinematography, screenplay, and film, Aronofsky began his trademark of writing about characters that lead themselves to self-destruction. Self- destruction is clear in most of Aronofsky’s films like his latest film Black Swan that also won many awards and led actress, Natalie Portman to win the Oscar for Best Actress. His formalistic nature flows through each one of his films whether it is with special effects, or with the performance done by the actors.

Ludovico Ariosto is considered by some as the greatest epic poet of the 16th century. He has been called the “Italian Homer” and is recognized as a great influence on the works of William Shakespeare. Ariosto was born on September 8, 1474 to Nicoli and Daria Ariosto. Nicoli was the governor of Reggio, which probably influenced his son’s choice of career. At an early age, Ariosto began to study law. Thus began his career in politics. From 1503 to 1517 he served at the court of the Cardinal Ippolito d’Estes as a courtier, ambassador, and administrator. In 1518 it is rumored that he fell out of the Cardinal’s favor, so he sought employment with the Cardinal’s brother, the Duke Alfonso of Ferrara. Ariosto made Ferrara his home for the remainder of his life. He moved on to govern the district of Garfagnana from 1522-1525. His greatest achievement while governing Garfagnana was riding it of the robber bands that had infested the area. Around 1530 he married his mistress and love of his life, Alessandra Benucci. He died at Ferrara on June 6, 1533.

British actress, Audrey Hepburn, is recognized as a film and fashion icon. She radiated beauty and elegance throughout her career. She has been in many movies and is best known for her classic movies such as: Sabrina, Funny Face, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, My Fair Lady, and Roman Holiday. She received many awards throughout her life time, but it took a lot of hard work and determination. Many people don’t know much about her, her childhood and what she did before and after her career took off. Hepburn grew up in World War II. It was a hard time for her,but she had amazing courage through all of it. The problems Audrey faced throughout her childhood impacted who she was and who she would be when she was older. She persevered through a scary childhood and health problems she had to face when she was older. Throughout her life she never stopped persevering.
