Animal Farm: Innocents or Lying for Power

865 Words2 Pages

Having read the book “Animal Farm” I thought it was a good book with a lot of similarities that I could tie it in with reality. I also thought the author explained behavior very nicely. During this book lots of things happen that are much like reality, like tyrants, fake power, and lots of lying. To start off I will tell you about the main characters, and second what they will accomplish during their time in animal farm. I will also discuss what they want whether they're innocent or they lie to be in power.

This book is about many characters mostly animals. There are six main characters, these being first Old Major; an old pig that has won many contests and is favored by Jones. Second is Jones, the man who ran Manor Farm before the rebellion. Third is Snowball , Snowball is a good pig who was very good at speech and was highly respected being first leader in the rebellion. Fourth is the one and only Napoleon; a pig very much like Snowball. He help lead the rebellion in the beginning with Snowball but later disappears with some dogs. He comes back and chases out Snowball becoming the new leader of the rebellion and the farm. Fifth is Squealer; who is next to Napoleon as right hand man, he is the second best known compared to the other pigs. He is one of the better persuader and speakers. Sixth is the great horse Boxer; he is a horse who works harder than anyone on the whole farm. He has 2 quotes “ I will work harder” and “Napoleon is always right”. He adopted these quotes at the beginning of the rebellion and while the execution were happening. There are many more characters in this book but they are lower characters meaning they have short role as an animal.

Next I will discuss what the animals want .The first thing the...

...important event in the book is when the rebellion starts, because this is the start of a new beginning. It also is the start of a great adventure the animals are about to embark on . The reason I say this is because it leads up to many events some that are happy and some that are terrible. Without the rebellion they probably would have starved to death because Jones would always get drunk and not take care of them.

In conclusion Animal Farm was a great book that had a lot of insight to it. The writer tells many stories from lots of points of views. It also had a great connection to the real world the way there was false power and each animal could represent a different person in the reality. This book was great and I would recommend it to anyone who likes to read about modern times or government.
