Steroid abuse also hurts professional leagues, after the steroid era in baseball, many beloved fans, retired players, owners, analysts felt ashamed when it came to how baseball had turned into a laughingstock. Anabolic steroids also have long-term consequences legally. Anabolic steroids are classified as controlled substances under U.S. federal law and the laws of many states (Collins).
