Mass communication and technology control the world we live in today. Everywhere you look there are children on game systems, teenagers on phones, and adults on laptops; there is nothing that can be done about it. But this technological revolution isn’t a complete downside when used to our advantage. Technology of our time has the ability to extend the possibilities of human life and communication. Before, for a person to send a letter or make a call it took time and money. Now it just takes a simple email. To understanding the culture and meaning of another place a person had to physically travel there. Now, with just the click of a mouse, a person can be halfway around the world in an instant. People of this time have access to vast amounts of information at their fingertips. This in itself is a huge step in being globally connected. Yet, instead of utilizing the possibilities that technology brings us, we let it go to waste. As the world becomes a smaller, more connected place, being globally aware becomes much more important. It is one of the key things a person must do in order to understand and have a place in the world today, and as Americans, it is one of the things we lack the most of. We, as a people, must re-educate ourselves, as well as teach the future generations, to be prepared for the growing global economy, and the best way to do that is by utilizing today's worldly connections and technology.
The world has changed. It has evolved and Americans must evolve right along with it. The population has been increasing so rapidly and so tremendously over the last few decades, but it isn’t just America; in fact, the relative population of America is becoming miniscule. With technology being such a prominent factor in our ...

The topic of technology and our society has become a very controversial subject today. Many people believe that technology is an essential component of our modern world, helping us to improve communication from farther distances as well as giving us easy access to important information. On the other hand, there is the opinion that too much technology is affecting social interactions and our basic development. “Technology…is a queer thing, it brings you great gifts with one hand, and stabs you in the back with the other.” (Carrie Snow.) The CBC Documentary “Are We Digital Dummies” displayed the pros and cons when it comes to modern technology that we use in the western world everyday.
In “Four Human Rights Myths” Susan Marks discusses several conceptions (or misconceptions according to her) about human rights. She begins her paper with a case study of the 2011 London riots and how distinctively different is their coverage by the British prime minister and two scholars.

Until recently, the term “population growth” has always been regarded in a positive manner; still many people believe that a growing human population results in a growing economy. While many people debate whether a reduction in our total numbers is necessary, others debate what the effects would be. Not only does our population affect the economy, but also our environment, education, quality of life, and everything around us depends on how we react to this growing problem. Our population is growing and we must decide how we will react and what effects our actions will have.
Technology has changed our world dramatically over the last several decades. Several generations before us did not have air conditioning, telephones, television much less internet. However, today we have access to all of this and more. Technological advances have not only made changes in how we communicate, but also in how everyday tasks are done. The New York Times explains how social media affects children’s behavior and academics, and how the concept of dating has been altered while Louis C. K. explains how the 21st century takes little things for granted and YouTube channel charstarlineTV shows how daily activities can no longer be done without the use of cellphones.
Although the world as a whole has become greater and greater as each decade passes, the world has experienced a decline that overpowers the good that has happened in this century. Technology wise, the world has used this to our advantage, and become a greater and smarter world each day. However, the technology is a main reason for the world’s downfall.

In the past seventy-five years the United States has increased its population over by 200% to a staggering three hundred and fourteen million people according to the United States Census Bureau. This growing number represents a series of unfavorable factors which can have major effects on our country. Detrimental elements such as poverty can have spiraling effects on things such as education, and depletion of our ecosystems natural resources. Overdevelopment in the United States is an increasing issue, as we push the margins of calculated safe population stability; America faces struggles of scarcity and an overall decline in quality of life from its overdevelopment.
Today, Americans are faced with the increasing change of technology in our everyday life. Sometimes the change happens and we do not realize how it affects our lives. I think it is always a good idea to talk to someone that is older than yourself, like your grandparents to remind you of the times in their younger years. Hopefully, that will open your eyes to the changes we face in this generation and the generation to come. In this chapter, the author explores the relationship of changing technology to changes in both the environment and social institutions.

Global communication is the communication that occurs all over around the globe across international borders. The requirement for global communication is because of increase in influence and effects of globalization, Different culture, societies and countries share their ideas, knowledge, cultural and societal practices through using of technology and spread their ideology and dominant set of minds in other countries and societies. Technology has brought us closer and squeezed the distances, but in reality, it has taken us away from each other. The rapid growth of technology has brought about significant changes in human lives, especially in their relationships. The latest technologies have turned this world into a “global village” but the way humans interact with each other, the types of relationships and their importance has changed a lot. The advancement in technology has brought us closer, but has also taken us apart. In the past, the means of communication were limited.
