If more people become interested in living a healthier life, they will gain knowledge on how to get the same great taste from a healthier choice. Many Americans choose alternatives such as being vegetarian or only eating organic food. Recent studies have shown that organic food may help elongate people’s lives, prevent diseases and is more nutritious compared to ordinary produce (Stevens).
Once Americans realize that their diet is tainted and unnatural, the long-term effects they are suffering from and how it is diminishing young children them maybe our country can start to make progress. Gaining knowledge of preparing a healthy and affordable meal at home, exercising more, only allowing certain number of fast food restaurants in one area, and educating our younger generations on how to remain healthy are just a few things that can be done to fix the American diet.
