As a kid he was the one who decided what the teams would be at lunchtime and even as a young Scottish player he would help his coaches with team management. Through his early years people were aware of what he was capable of in the future by the way he studied tactics and formations. Sir Alex Ferguson was the most important man in football for the past 25 years. In result of all his qualifications through the years, Sir Alex began to gather his thoughts for his own book. After all of his achievements, and the brilliance of the football teams he created over 27 years at Old Trafford, Alex put together a 402-page continuation of the Ferguson life story. He shares his achievements, significant moments and thoughts for the first time in his life. Not only is it incredible to hear about Ferguson’s life but also to hear it from the man himself. One of the main concepts in Fergusons book was his impact in football. Alex Ferguson is one of the biggest individuals in football and through his exciting career he has made an immense impact. Generally speaking, there are mainly three types of great managers in the game. Some managers have worked under big pressure at big clubs and still always deliver trophies. Other managers have reached their success against the odds in cruel conditions or at unpopular clubs. Finally, there are the managers who have made themselves famous by creating a specific style of play that has changed the way the rest of the world thinks about football. The reason Ferguson is unique is because he consists of all three. Sir Alex Ferguson will forever be remembered for the services he has given to football and even though football has witnessed a lot of special talents, Ferguson is still at the top of the list. Ferguson also shows why he was able to achieve so much through his journey. I think that Alex Ferguson wrote an amazing novel about his career by giving the reader a better understanding of what happens in the top league in the world which a lot of football fans wonder about. Although this book is mostly about his career and achievements he also adds a more personal aspect to it. He talks about his family and connection to the players that he managed. ‘Alex Ferguson: My Biography’ is definitely a book that I would recommend to other students interested in sport because it is written by a man that has witnessed nearly everything in football.
