Walt Disney was a great man in the eyes of many people. There are almost no people in the history of the entire world that have done anything that can even compare to Walt Disney’s many achievements. Walt Disney was born as Walter Elias Disney on December 5th, 1901. He had a great life and died ten days after his sixty-fifth birthday on December 15th, 1966. Throughout his entire lifetime, Disney had released a total of eighty-one movies that have won many awards and achievements. Walt Disney is considered by many a twentieth century folk hero whose name is supposed to represent imagination, success, optimism, creation and many other traits needed to succeed.
Disney is the fourth child of five children. He had three brothers and one sister; his siblings in order from order to oldest to youngest are Herbert Arthur Disney, Raymond Arnold Disney, Roy Oliver Disney, Walter "Walt" Elias Disney, and Ruth Flora Disney. He grew up in Missouri, and then in 1910, he moved to Kansas City. He had moved to Kansas City to work delivering papers and went to school. Walt Disney’s aunt was the first one in his family to encourage Walt’s artistic ability. On July 13th, 1925 Disney married one of his first employees, a woman by the name of Lillian Bounds. Together with Lillian Bounds, Walt Disney had two children. The names of the children of Lillian Bounds and Walt Disney were named Diane Marie Disney and Sharon Disney. Bounds and Disney were Diane Marie Disney’s birthparents, but Sharon Disney was adopted.
Walt Disney has also spent some parts of his life being involved in wars. In 1918, he was rejected for the army, so he applied for the Red Cross. He was accepted and became an ambulance driver for World War I. When he was in the Red Cross, Walt Disney drew a lot of pictures, and covered his ambulance with drawings. Disney was in France two years, driving ambulances for the Red Cross. Disney was also involved in the second world war, World War II as well.
