The world is constantly changing and I believe that the world is headed in the right direction. Remember all the classic science fiction your father read about flying cars and space flight? Some of that actually came true. We do have spaceships, although they're not the sleek, Star-Wars-esque spaceships we dream of. Now, some of this stands out, and for good reason. Thoughts like medicine, agriculture, and many more have changed the world as we know it. Some are ideas that we could not live without, while some are mere specks in the history of the world.
One idea that has changed the world is the invention of writing. The world, without this idea, would probably be a slave-driven world with the rich ruling. How would we trade in this barbaric world? To understand this, one must look to the past for answers. Writing’s origin lies in the depths of the past, where if a person wanted to communicate with people far away, or just write a story for the little ones to read, they might choose to draw a picture. These pictures shine a light on the past when there were no texts, and the most one could do was to change a wall forever if they wanted to make a story, spirit picture, etc. These pictographs were large and bulky, and were not an ideal solution. The Mesopotamians decided to find an alternative to the tricky problem. They found that they could write in cuneiform, which was a tricky, but more efficient, solution. The amount of characters required to write this language ranged from 1,000 in the start of the texts to around 400 in the Bronze Age. Without the Mesopotamians we would not have all the luxury we have today. Could you ever imagine a world without writing? You may think, life would not be so bad without it, but without writing we would not have stories, we could not write to the bank, we could not text. Two major contributions made to society were the first forms of writing known as Cuneiform and Hammurabi’s Code.
Which is good because this means more and more people will start to understand what's happening in today's world. For example, Climate change, it now seems to be at least partially human-induced, meaning we as humans have the ability to make some sort of difference. In my opinion it should not be very difficult to help the world and make it a better place. We have to understand that if we do not take care of our world than no one else will, because it is our home, no one else's. The problem is that we have to learn to use technology responsibly. Trade provides a primary method of connecting technology to the world. Initially trade was exchanged as items of barter. Cattle, shells, crops, salt, and other items served as a means of providing a fair exchange of goods between parties. The invention of currency has much to do with the needs of trade. It is impractical to ferry a heard a cattle to a place of sale in order to buy the good. However money is more portable than livestock and many other items of barter and helped ease the trade process (Ehrlich, 2000). The importance of trade to culture led to a streamlined process with the invention of currency. While items of barter have value that is tangible, such as food produced by crops, modern currency is only valued by the culture since a government body guarantees it. As a result of the governmental backing, currency can be used a meaningful method of exchanging value. Money that does not contain precious metals is simply a symbolic way of representing value. A culture recognizes the currency as representing value and can be used as an effective accounting system for trade. Additionally, the influence from the cultural value of trade translates into placing less significance on the intrinsic value of the currency itself and instead considers what convenience the technology can provide to improve trade.

As the world continues to evolve we must ask ourselves this question: is the world changing for the better? In my opinion, it is not. I believe the "change" of the world refers to the technological advances. As technology grows, human jobs are replaced with advanced machinery, the next generation appears to get less intelligent, and human contact is replaced by other devices.
