Introduction
Bill Gates and Steve Jobs are intelligent innovative thinkers who have always new things to show and give to the world, and both of them are known as the best-known entrepreneurs of the personal computer revolution in the modern age. These two entrepreneurs may both work in the field of technology, but they also have many differences to distinguish themselves from one another.
Early Life
Bill Gates grew up in a wealthy area in Seattle, Washington, with his parents and two sisters. As the son of a lawyer and a schoolteacher, Gates attended a public school and then went to the Lakeside School, a private college prep institute. During his years at Lakeside School Gates became interested in the field of computer programming, he met his friend and future business partner Paul Allen, and developed his first computer software program at 13 years old.
Steve Jobs was adopted in February of 1955 by Paul and Clara Jobs, who were very kind people. They were so interested in fulfilling their son’s needs that they moved from Mountain View, California, to Los Altos, California, in 1968, to put Jobs in a new school because he told them that he could not get along with the students in his old school. He mostly had an interest in science and often looked at things from a different viewpoint. He also preferred to hang with the older students because he was very mature for his age.
Gates and Jobs share the same interest because they both were very mature for their age and they both started to realize their interest in computer science when they were very young.
Personal Life
On January 1, 1994 Gates married Melinda French. They have two daughters and one son; Jennifer Katherine (b.1996), Phoebe Adele (b.2002), and a son Roy John (b. 1...

...oove, InfoPath, and OneNote. These programs have even helped us students today with all of our college work. As I previously said they are known as the best-known entrepreneurs of the personal computer revolution in the modern age. Even in the year 2013 we are still relying on some of the inventions that they have created, we have become attached to some of them. Both Gates and Jobs began their journey at a very young age. Both of them had a dream and with motivation and determination they were able to make that dream a reality. They both started from the bottom and rose to the top in an instant by focusing on their business and also trying to become one of the most successful people in the entire world. In closing Bill Gates and Steve Jobs have made a big contribution to the technology world, and both became two of the most successful entrepreneurs in our world.
...same level of access? Why was Gates ultimately more experienced and successful than any of them? Gates said it was his “obsession” (52). He had a passion for computers and programming that drove him to sneak out at night and put in those long hours necessary to become an expert.
Steve Jobs is a world-renowned entrepreneur who revolutionized the technology industry. He is best known as Apple’s co-founder (“Obituary: Steve Jobs”, 2011). Jobs’ numerous innovations not only changed the world, but they also developed the personal computer industry. The Apple co-founder never seized to amaze his audience with his endless unique innovations. Throughout his career, Jobs contributed to the technology industry with devices such as the Macintosh, iPod, iPhone, iPad, iMac and MacBook (O'Reilly, 2011). His death on October 5, 2011 marked the end of an innovative streak (O'Reilly, 2011).
To begin with, Steve Jobs and John D. Rockefeller had very similar starting points. Both Jobs and Rockefeller grew up in modest families and showed signs of interest in their jobs at a young age. Jobs showed interest into machines before high school and took multiple lectures on the topic. During these lectures, he met Steve Wozniak and together they created a company that primarily designs video games. They later joined a group of computer addicts who
Steve Jobs and his friend Wozniak started to create their very first computer, and it came out a lot better than what they thought it was going to be. With very little education, the first computer that came out was extraordinary. “It was the first single-board computer with built-in circuitry allowing for direct video interface, along with a central ROM, which allowed it to load programs from an external source” (“Steve P. Jobs”). Without the education that most people get, for someone who dropped out of college, Jobs created such a powerful computer without the knowledge that most people have. Jobs computer that he created along with his friend was so astonishing a second computer came out. “A year later, the Apple II was launched with a simple, compact design like the Apple I, plus a color monitor” (“Steve Paul Jobs”). The first computer that Jobs created was excellent enough to create a second one, which was also a superior computer. Even though Jobs dropped out of college, he was still intelligent enough to create one of the biggest companies in the world. Apple incorporations was going strong until one day the company decided to let Steve Jobs go,...
Steve Jobs wasn’t always a computer whiz; he developed it over the course of his childhood. Born on February 24, 1955, Jobs was put up for adoption by University of Wisconsin students. He was then adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs where he grew up in Mountain View, California. His father was a machinist for Spectra Physics, and his mother was an accountant (American Decades 1). Initially bored with school, Jobs developed his first real interest in technology when he visited the Hewlett-Packard plant in Palo Alto on a school field trip in high school where he had his first encounter with a desk-top computer. After getting assistance from the cofounder of Hewlett-Packard, William Hewlett, on a school project, Jobs got a summer job at the plant. There he met future cofounder of Apple Inc., Steve Wozniak. They started working on pr...
Bill was born on October 28th, 1955 his parents are William H. Gates Sr and Mary Maxwell Gates. Since he was a child he was interested in computers. “His education started at a local private school known for tough academic standards. When he was first introduced to computers he would skip class to work with the machine. After getting in trouble he gave up computers to focus on education for a year. He dropped out of harvard after his sophomore year because of his success with computers”(Mcguire 1). He was so interested in computers he dropped out of Harvard one of the best schools in America to pursue computers. Due to all of Gates knowledge on computers he was easily able to get a job “Gates' first professional job came soon after he and his computer friends wrote The Problem Report Book, a 300-page manual they compiled after going through the garbage bins of Seattle's Computer Center Corporation (CCC) and finding all the programmers' errors. CCC officials were so impressed with the boys that they gave them jobs”(Mcguire 1). Gates was easily able to get a job by just finding errors in a computer software because of how much he knew about computers. Bill Gates past knowledge of computers helped him become who he is
Gates not only shared dreams and hopes with himself nut with his partner Paul Allen there big dreams were about softwares and what impacts it would create to be able to impact people's lives to have a computers in every house, however he had to face many obstacles they stood in the way of his dreams in his private elementary school there wasn't enough money to provide for computers because back then they were very expensive and without computers how could he do what he was most interested in. Therefor Gates had a fundraiser was able to rent a year worth
Bill Gates had done the seemingly impossible. This one man has changed the way we all think; he did it with his passion and his intelligence. This world runs on computers because of what he revolutionized, he was at times controversial, but, he was a very talented businessman.
Overall, Steve Jobs was a great inventor. He changed the world with his many technological advances and the opening of his now world-famous company, Apple. He showed great determination, skill, and knowledge throughout all of his undertakings. Steve Jobs will never be forgotten and his inventions still live on today.
On October 28, 1955 William H. Gates III (nicknamed "trey") was born in Seattle. His father was a lawyer (William H. Gates II) and his mother was a schoolteacher. He also had two older sisters who were in high school when Bill was born. Bill attended a public elementary school before he moved to a private school in North Seattle named Lakeside. Lakeside's strong academics enabled Bill to actively get involved with computers (which were the love of his life next to baseball) and use his superior intellect. This was the beginning of a long and successful career in computers. Bill combined his intellect and visions of technology along with his active participation in may charities to make our world a better place.
Although Steve and Bill are competitors, there are similarities between Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. Both of them are the most successful CEO’s in the world. Though they were college dropouts, but they still achieved a lot of success in their own way. Steve was a very innovative man. As the English proverb goes by “ Have no fear of perfection - you will never reach it.” by Salvador Dali. No matter how many times he failed, he could develop things from his own idea and turn them into a successful product. In 1979 Apple’s first product was introduced, people like it very much because of its simplicity and innovative ideas. Later on in year 1980, the company showed a tremendous performance, where its share rose by 32% (Messa, 1998). Similarly, Bill Gates was also like that, but just that Steve was in a company which makes hardware prod...
While Bill Gates was at junior high a group of parents raise money to purchase the first computerized terminal in the school. When that happened he decided to take all his time to work on that system teaming with other students to learn about different operating systems. He excelled in his learning of systems and he started developing ideas to make business with companies in order to learn how they make their terminals. His mind for busi...
On February 24, 1955, Steve Paul Jobs was born to Joanne Schieble and Abdulfattah "John" Jandali, parents who wanted the best for their child. As an infant, Jobs was adopted by Clara and Paul Jobs. Though his biological parents did not attend college, Clara and Paul pledged to start a college fund to make sure Steve would attend college (“Steve Jobs Biography”). As a child, teachers had taken notice in testing abilities; It was so well that school administrators offered to skip him to high school, an offer that his parents declined. Later on he joined the Hewlett-Packard Explorer Club, where he saw his first computer at the age of 12. Ever since, he had been so fascinated with computers and knew he wanted to work with computers. Attending Homestead High School in 1971, he met his future partner, Steve
Steve Jobs spent his childhood in Silicon Valley. Steve Jobs was born in 1955, late February. He was born in California and Clara and Paul Jobs adopted him. He grew up with one sister, Patty. He was the type of child who liked to stick to himself. He only did competitive swimming, and no team sports. He was interested in electronics and gadgets, because he would spend a lot of time in his neighbor's garage, who worked at Hewlett Packard Company. Jobs also enrolled in the Hewlett-Packard Explorer Club. There he saw engineers demonstrate new products, and he saw his first computer at the age of twelve. He was very impressed, and knew right away that he wanted to work with
Steve Jobs’ interest in electronics started way back in High School. His neighbor, Bill Fernandez who had the same interest, introduced him to Steve Wozniak. Wozniak was highly skilled in computer and electronics. After completing High School in the year 1972, Jobs enrolled at Reed College where
