A brief history of web design.
Web design has a very young history is similar to other areas such as graphic design and computer science. Although web design is also seen as both. It has made a huge impact in people’s everyday lives. It is very difficult to see a Internet without pictures, different types of themes, and music. Since 2000 and later the web has become much more integrated into people's daily lives, There have also been significant changes in the way people view and access websites, this has changed how sites are programmed and designed.
Why do I want to join this career field? One of the main reasons I chose this career field was because it combines two of my favorite things; the internet and graphic design. Consumers understanding the content of a site often relies on users understanding how to navigate the website works. User experience is related to layout, simple instructions on a website. How well a user can understand how they can navigate a site may also depend on the UI of the site. If a user understands the usefulness of that website, they are likely to continue accessing it. Users who are skilled and well educated with websites they use may find it more unique, yet a less user-friendly website interface useful anyways. However, users with less education or technology illiterate are less likely to see the usefulness of a less user-friendly website interface. This improves the trend for a more simpler user experience and ease of access to go with as many users as possible regardless of their computer skills. Designers develop ideas and concepts,choosing the right form of media and visuals to meet the client's needs. This career field demands a creative mind, updated knowledge of the industry's graphic software and a professional approach to time, costs and deadlines. This career field also offers a lot of freedom as you can either be a freelancer or work for a company.
A typical day of both a Web designer and a Graphic designer includes meeting clients to discuss the goals and objectives of the goal,finding the client's business needs and developing an idea to suits their goal,estimating how much time will be required in order to complete the work and goals set by the client. Developing design ideas by researching information while thinking creatively to produce new ideas.
Not just designers, but also other artists that influence our daily lives like architects and animators and industrial designers. Practically any field you could possibly think of.
The famous joke,”How do you get to Carnegie Hall?” could also apply to becoming a renowned graphic designer. The key is practice, practice, practice. A few months ago, I emailed Don Howard, a former Disney Imagineer and owner of Don Howard Studios in Huntsville, Alabama. I wrote to Mr. Howard seeking advice on the steps I needed to take to have a successful career. His advice was simple, obtain your degree and draw something everyday.
Karjaluoto talks about what it takes to work in a creative design field and his take on how he went from working at a ‘job’ for a daily newspaper to starting his own design agency and becoming a Creative Director. As many in this field can attest to, ‘A creative life is a long, hard road, with very few clearly marked signs.’ (Karjaluoto) This is the industry standard for those of us who are in our infancy when it comes to careers as freelance designers. There will be times where it’ll seem as if ones career as a freelancer is at a standstill, yet in order to get through the tough times one must stay committed to his/her mission as a designer. Some advice the author gives is that there will be periods of self-doubt, yet one should ‘Grow a thick skin, fail as much—and as quickly—as you can, and give it everything you’ve got’ (Karjaluoto).
I have had two part-time jobs involving computer related work, in which I have been able to bring art influences into. When working for Retail Futures, an e-commerce company based in Malvern, I designed their corporate image, and websites for clients such as Coalport and Parcel Force. More recently I have taken another job with a more technical slant, for another e-commerce firm, eplexus. I still do design work, in which I have designed websites and images for "Highwaycode.com", and Anglo Digital a successful venture capitalist firm. Alongside my practical experience, I am also studying Computing at my current college, which aids me to learn the fundamentals of computer usage and programming, an area that I am interested in.
A designer must be able to make his or her work visually appealing so that consumers are more likely to consider making purchases. A designer must be able to understand what a consumer wants to be able to capture his or her desires. One must listen to the needs of his or her clients and be able to interpret that information into an original and unique design. Prospective designers must be flexible and must work quickly while paying attention to the details within their designs. A designer may have several projects at once and must be able to work diligently on these projects as to finish them in a timely manner, so as not to disappoint the customer. Despite seeming like a glamorous and easy career, majority of the time designers work long hours to make ends meet with their projects (Romano 64). A designer has to consider several thousands of different images and fonts to put into his or her work to make it more visually appealing to the customer. Designers consider the fonts, images, colors, and layouts to make sure that none of the items clash in a bad way. One must do all of this while also making sure not to intrude on any copyright laws. If a designer were to break a copyright law, he or she could be fined and sued for a very large sum of money. A designer could use pictures from public domain or even take pictures for themselves
Interior Design is recognized as a stressful career due to the demanding clients and deadlines established. Commercial or contract designers tend to have higher stress levels than residential designers because commercial designers have strict deadlines to meet since their clients are companies or corporations. To manage stress levels, all designers must possess certain skills. They must be able to manage time, communicate fully and effectively with the clients, apply their creativity to projects, and make decisions. By learning and applying these skills to their work life, Interior Designers will be able to lower their stress levels and be more successful. Since Interior Design is such a client-collaborative career, a variety of skills including time management, communication, decision making, and creativity, are needed to be successful in the field.

Many people get confused or intimidated at the idea of hiring a residential interior designer, they think it will cost too much money or that the process will take too long. An interior designer’s job description is to bring each home comfort and functionality. Interior design is an art and science of enhancing the interiors of a space or building, used to create a healthier and more aesthetically pleasing environment for the user. The space should not only look amazing, but it should also be a reflection of the client’s personality. The space should function within the way that the client lives their lives. They create designs that can help raise productivity, sell merchandise, and improve lifestyle (“Interior Designer” What’s para. 1). Most designers have a specialty or certain style of a building or space they they work on, and others may work for home furnishing stores (“Interior Designers” para. 11). Going through the process that an interior designer goes through to make a design is time consuming. They begin with the first step which is called programming (“Interior Designer Career” para. 4). During my whole life and experience I have been interested in the Art, Creativity, and I have been traveling around Graphics Designing. When I go out to centres, supermarkets, the high streets around Kingston anywhere in London, Germany and other parts of Europe which I have seen. I have seen lots of Graphics designs in advertising, Billboards companies for example in electronical products or any type of product the graphics advertising companies running around the world, just because of that I was inspired in the graphics designing and I was influence by the subject.

Aside from business purposes, a website could also be built for personal use. If you’re into blogging, you can have your own site to express everything you want or feel; a website could also be used to inform people. Due to technology’s fast evolution, creating a website is now a very simple task even for those who have no background in web designing, all you need is a working computer and an internet connection and you’re ready to create your very own site!
The work of an interior designer requires a natural skill to work with people and to decipher what a client desires. "The designer's job is to evaluate, plan, and design the interior areas of residential, commercial, and industrial places." (Careers in Focus: Design.) A few simple jobs consist of helping clients to select fixtures and furniture, supervising the coordination of colors and materials, obtaining estimates and costs within the client?s budget, and overseeing the execution and installation of the project. Some very important details designers must be aware of are the architectural requirements, space planning, and the function or purpose of the environment.

The Internet started out as an experimental military network in the 1960s. Doug Engelbart prototypes an "Online System" (NLS) which does hypertext browsing, editing, email, and so on. The Internet is a worldwide broadcasting resource used for distributing information and a source for interaction between people on their computers. In 1973, the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) initiated a research program to investigate techniques and technologies for interlinking packet networks of various kinds.
Designing in any way is a career that I could say becomes natural to me because it all involves some experience in art and art is the basic beginning of it all.
Next, you have to develop the layout of the web page. You should draw some simple sketches to display the basic “look and feel” of the web page. The use of a specific theme or template should be used to maintain the same basic look throughout the web site. Keep the reader of the web site in mind when designing the web site. Most readers will not usually wait on large graphic files to load, especially on the home page.
