Advantages
Because acrylic paint dries so quickly it is perfect for the person who has limited time and space to apply to their hobby. It is easy to set up on a kitchen table or corner of a bedroom, and since it dries quickly, it is convenient to store works in progress.
When dry, acrylics are impervious to moisture. This allows multiple layers to be painted in a relatively short space of time and makes it a good choice for murals.

The technique of tempera painting has been used since antiquity. The painting medium is made by mixing powdered pigments with water to create a paste and then combined with an egg yolk which is then applied to a gesso ground. This was a popular technique in Italy, it wasn’t until the 15th Century that oil paint was starting to be used. To create the paint, pigment is mixed with oil. This medium was popular in the Flanders and the Netherlands in the 13th and 14th Centuries because of oil paints range of expressive possibilities. Oil paint was slow drying and more flexible then tempera, it allowed for a detailed application of the paint which meant that the artist was able to manipulate the media to create a range of effects.
...ach style is in the distance between the previous styles and the style of the existing piece. Here, then, is the nature of art which graffiti exposes. Art is an activity, not an object; it is something which happens when foundations are developed upon and, most importantly, when new reference points are created. Each new reference point is a work of art; each new reference point is art.

By using oil, Berthe Morisot chooses one paint over the other. According to chapter 7, oil paint is considered “slow drying”, which indicates it takes longer to dry than other paint choices, however it is also stated in chapter 7 that oil can dry faster with the addition of other agents. There are many benefits of using oil, seeming as though it can capture detail, create a smooth appearance, can blend easily and can create the illusion of texture. “Mas o Menos”, on the other hand, is created with acrylic paint, which can’t be as easily manipulated as oil paintings. According to chapter 8, “oil and acrylic often mimic each other”, however their properties determine why one paint is chosen over the other. Also according to the text, oil painting is rich in colors, but fades and cracks over time. In addition, oil can be blended and fixed at a later date, but acrylic cannot. Personally, depending on the acquired look and the personal preference, the artist can look at the pros and cons of the two to decide which one fits the desired artwork in

If you’re not having fun making your work, no one will have fun looking at it. Life starts at the end of your comfort zone. Paint over a painting when you’re done with it. Educate yourself, read every book about every artist that inspires you. Listen to others, but take time and thought to verify their critique before accepting their advice. Pretend like your 5 years old and make art. Pretend like your 100 years old and make art. As soon as your process becomes a chore, find a way to change that into something you enjoy.
7) I will explore acrylic paint further by using it on a new material that I have never used before. I would like to use the acrylic paint on a very raw and natural surface as I have been interested in using this technique since the beginning of this school year. Moreover, I will be exploring the prismacolor premier coloured pencils for the first time, so I have not had the chance to ever experience what it is like to use this material or even to mix the media with acrylic paint.
What I am slowly coming to learn and accept is the concept that failure and not knowing is okay because finding out what one will thrive in, is a process that has peaks and valleys but ultimately you have learned something from each of those. Neil Gaiman talks of a concept of “making great art,” and many would define great art as the “Mona Lisa” by Leonardo Da Vinci or “Moonlight Sonata” by Beethoven, however, I think Gaiman ultimately means make and do what you enjoy most because what you enjoy most will, in time, produce success. What is most genuine, what frightens you most and entices a feeling of both fear and adrenaline, what exposes you
Clearly failure is not something for you to fear of. Success is good but it usually make you corky and greedy, where failure give you self-realization and self-examination. So do not be afraid of failure, just put everything you have in to what you doing. Sometime you win sometime you learn. Because if you are so afraid of failure and won’t learn from it, you can literally fail your way to success. Like a wise man said: “Even a broken clock is right twice a
At this point you don't know what is wrong and what is right, you have no clue what you want to paint. As your sitting there you are thinking, then you come up with an idea. You think of trees and grass, of water and sky. You start to see pictures and colors form into a beautiful picture. But what to do next? Should you continue to create a master piece or should you let another person show you? You decide to watch to see what others would do in your position, and you learn from that to start on your own master piece.
I feel very strongly that there is an indifference to painting in today’s society. In today’s technology age, a high value is not placed on aesthetics such as painting. American society is drawn more to television programs and sporting events than to operas and art galleries.
