What is the Nervous System? The nervous system is a network of cells that take messages from the brain and spinal cord to other parts of the body. The nervous system is made up of the Central Nervous System and the Peripheral Nervous System. The Central Nervous System has two main parts; the brain and the spinal cord. While the Peripheral Nervous System has the Somatic and the Autonomic Nervous systems included with in it. The Central NS is broken down by two parts the brain and the spinal cord. The brain is protected by the scull and has a mushroom like shape. The bain has four main parts: the brain stem, cerebrum, cerebellum, and the diencephalon. The brain I the main organ of the Central NS. The average size of a human brain …show more content…
The sympathethic nervouse system and the parasympathetic nervous system. The sympathethic nervous system of the body acts to control the bodly functions like heart rate, urination, digestion and sexual arousal. The parasympathetic nervous system controls the fight or flight responses during difficult or stressful times. This system triggers the body to fight off any stress or danger. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autonomic_nervous_system) Since the brain and the nervous systems are in need of each other to perform their functions it is important to look at the brain and all of it 's features. The brain is the control center that process the majority of all the bodies functions. The spinal cord is responsible for certain simple muscle reflexes but the brain process both conscious and unconscious. The cerebrum is the largest part of the brain. It contains all the tools that are responsible the majority of the brains functions. The cerebrum is split up into four sections: frontal lobe, occiptal lobe and pariental lobe. The cerebrum has two sections the right and the left hemisphere that are connected by axons that send messages to and from one another. The matter in this part is made up of cells that carry signals between the nerve cells and the organs that run through the …show more content…
This lobe is also located in the cerebral hemisphere. The parietal lobe is focused on comprehension, language, reading. It also monitors all sensory comprehension. The pariental lobe has two parts. The sensory cortex and motor cortex. The sensory cortex, is located in the front part of the parietal lobe, it recieves information from the spinal cord about the different positions of various parts and how they move. This area of the brain affects area 's like sense of touch and relays if there is pain or pressure to different parts of the body. The motor cortex 's main function is to monitor and control movement of the body. It is located in the top, middle portion of the
The nerves are made of neurons which are the cells that receive, process and transmit messages from one neuron to another. The nervous system is separated into two main parts; the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system. The central nervous system is made up of the brain and the spinal cord. The second part of the nervous system is the peripheral nervous system which allows the central nervous system to communicate with the muscles, joints, glands and organs.
The cerebrum consists of two hemispheres, separated by a deep fissure called the Corpus Callosum, the hemispheres are divided into four lobes; the frontal, partials, occipital and temporal.
Separating the brain into the three main parts gives a much better idea as to how the brain functions. These three parts are the cerebral cortex, the brain stem and the cerebellum. The brain stem is the terminal from the brain to the body. This is where the brain will receive information from the body and then send out signals back to the body to tell it the correct response. When it comes to everyday reaction and natural bodily functions, the cerebral cortex will kick in, made up of pretty much all “grey matter.” The cerebral cortex is the hub for most of your reactions and memories. The cerebellum is mainly responsible for regulating the levels in the body, organizing the information and memories the brain receives and it also controls with the “thought process.”(brains and interactions, NP BBCsci.)
1. What is the difference between Introduction The brain has many different parts to it which help one function through daily life; parts such as the cerebrum which controls voluntary movement and regulates functions such as thinking, speaking and the ability to recall information. The cerebellum controls the balance and coordination and finally the brain stem, which consists of the medulla oblongata and the spinal cord which controls all involuntary functions such as breathing, heart rate and blood pressure.
The?nervous system?is the part of human body that coordinates the voluntary and involuntary actions of the human and transmits signals between different parts of its body.?The nervous system is our processing system, and the system that keeps us in contact with the outside world. It tells us that we exist, and along with the muscles allows us to move and react to stimuli. Our consciousness resides in our nervous systems, as do our thoughts and emotions. In short, the roles of the nervous system are: responsible for coordination of movement, response to environmental stimuli, intelligence, self-awareness, thought, and emotion. Nervous system is composed of nerve cells called neurons, which are specialized to carry
The nervous system is the most complex part of the body, as they govern our thoughts, feelings, and bodily functions. It is an important factor in science because it can lead to new discoveries for cures or diseases. The studies of the nervous system helped lower death rates from heart disease, stroke, accidents, etc. The nervous system is a network of neurons (nerve cells that sends information to the brain to be analyzed.
The left and right hemispheres of the brain are each divided into sections. Within each sections are lobes, controlling such processes as our visualization, our movement, and our personalities. For instance, the occipital lobe in the back of our brain is responsible for processing vision, and the frontal lobe behind our forehead controls cognition and personality. The lobes of the brain are split between the right and left hemispheres of the brain. This well-designed arrangement is for the lobes to function correctly, so the two hemispheres of the brain can communicate with one
The human nervous system is divided into two parts, the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system. The central nervous system, CNS, is just the brain and spinal cord. The peripheral nervous system, PNS, includes the nerves and neurons that extend outwards from the CNS, to transmit information to your limbs and organs, for example. Communication between your cells is extremely important, neurons are the messengers that relay information to and from your brain. Nerve cells generate electrical signals to transmit information.
The brain is the control center of the human body. It sends and receives millions of signals every second, day and night, in the form of hormones, nerve impulses, and chemical messengers. This exchange of information makes us move, eat, sleep, and think.
Almost all animals have a nervous system. Neurons bundle together to form nerves. The purpose of the nervous system is to coordinate all activities of the body, and enables the body to respond and adapt to changes both inside and outside. The central nervous and the peripheral nervous systems are very similar but different at the same time. The CNS is made up of the brain and spinal cord and functions mainly to process information and determine the appropriate responses. The central nervous system receives sensory information, figures out a response, and initiates a motor response if appropriate. The CNS is protected by the skull, vertebral column, and a membrane. The spinal cord provides communication between the brain and the peripheral nerves
It is the most important part of the body, because without a brain, none of us would be alive. In the brain, there are the cerebrum, the cerebellum, and the brain stem. The cerebrum holds memories, controls movement, and does problem solving and thinking. It is the biggest part of your brain. The cerebellum is underneath the cerebrum and controls coordination and balance.
The brain and spinal cord make up the central nervous system. The brain doesn't just control your organs, but also can think and remember. That part of the brain is called the mind.
Neurons are the building blocks of the nervous system; also they are the basic functional units of the nervous system. Neurons generate electrical signals called action potentials, which allow them to quickly transmit information over long distances. All neurons have the same basic parts. They are made of 3 basic parts. The control centre known as the cell body.
The nervous system is composed of all nerve tissue in the body. This organ system forms a communication and coordination network between all parts of the body. It plays a major role in everyday activities such as breathing, walking even blinking. It is made up of nerve tissues to receive and transmit stimuli to nervous centers and initiate response. Neurons are nerve cells that transmit signals from one location of the body to another. With damage to the nervous system the body would not be able to function properly. The body has to be well taken care of in order to insure proper regulation. The two anatomical divisions that work hand in hand to help regulate the nervous system are the central and peripheral nervous system. According to the Campbell’s seventh edition biology book the nervous system is the most intricately organized data processing system on earth. It is a complex collection of nerves and specialized cells.
The nervous system’s main function is to coordinate all of the activities in the body. The main organs are the cerebellum, which controls and coordinates movement. The cerebrum, is the center for conscious thought, learning, and memory. The last main organ is the brain stem. The brain stem keeps the automatic systems in your body working. Problems of the nervous system include, epilepsy, Alzheimer’s, and multiple sclerosis. You can care for your nervous system by wearing a seatbelt, wearing a helmet, and by not using drugs or alcohol. Something very confusing about the nervous system is that the left side of human brain controls the right side of the body and the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body!
