Secondly, sweatshops provided females more opportunities to handle their life. In some regions, females’ fate is controlled by their families, and these women usually have no choice. But sweatshops offered work positions to these women, so they don’t have to married early because of their families’ order. Although the sweatshop is not a good place to go, but the sweatshop gave women chances to avoid worse fate. One researcher stated that a large number of fired workers from a factory in Bangladesh ended up becoming prostitutes (Ramzanali, 2011, para. 10). Furthermore, even if the wage is low, females can still make a small income. Females can better handle their life with the help of the wages; for example, they can live without their families, so the families can’t control them. For one thing, women can contribute to the local economy, which inspired people’s positive attitude to women. One research indicated that Bangladesh’s economy increased because women workers in sweatshops (Sachs, 2005, Garyfalakis, 2015, p. 302). Females never have a place in some regions because people thought they are useless, but actually women can also contribute to social like the men. Sweatshop offered women the chance to work, to earn money, and to contribute to local economy, and that is a good way to show females’ abilities. For another, women in this regions could learn skills form sweatshops, which helped to improve their status. Garyfalakis (2015) claimed that women could learn about business practices by working in sweatshops (p.302). One of the reasons why female has a low status in these areas is because they don’t have the chances to learn skills, but by working in sweatshops, females might learn some skills that is useful for them. So they don’t need to rely on their families, and live by themselves could also improve their social
