My personal worldview explains the way I view and live life through the assumptions and beliefs I hold in response to the world around me. I believe I was created for a specific reason and purpose. What do I believe to be true? I believe that God exists and that he is the creator of everything that exists. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God, John 1:1” (NIV). This is biblical proof that God exists. The verse that explains that God has always existed is, “Revelation 22:13, I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End” (NIV). God has been alive forever, since before my start and before the start of everything I know. God is the originator of creation itself. “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth, Genesis 1:1” (NIV). God created the heavens, earth, animals, humans and everything else that exists in six days and rested on the seventh day as stated in the Bible. “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Matthew 6:26” (NIV). God created me and takes care of me day by day, and provides for all my needs. God has created me with a specific purpose and with God’s help I know I can discover my true calling. Every one of us has three specific callings: “First, there is the call to be a Christian. Second, for each individual there is a specific call—a defining purpose or mission, a reason for being. Every individual is called of God to respond through service in the world. Third, there is the call that we face each day in response to the multiple demands on our lives—our immediate duties and responsibilities” (Smith, ... ... middle of paper ... ...all life even those who choose to reject him. I need to live in such a way that if today was the last day I had to live, I know I have done Christ’s work and brought others to Christ. Till his return, I believe it is my duty to spread the word and to do my part for God. In conclusion, my worldview encapsulates the fact that a God exists and he has created the human race in his image. Being created in his image, I am bestowed with God’s character of love, kindness, righteousness, forgiveness, and all other great attributes expressed by him. Our duty as those who claim the title “Christian” is to live with a Christ like attitude and to walk the walk instead of just talking the talk. I need to put my knowledge, talents, and skills to work for Christ till his return. The choice to live my life for him is what gives my life meaning and purpose. Works Cited
All people have a worldview based on personal beliefs that form their reality and what they feel is meaningful in life. I am a Christian with a biblical worldview, which is based on the word of God. My faith in Jesus as my savior is what drives the meaning of who I am and the importance of life. The Book of Romans 1-8 provides the word of God and answers questions about how Christians can live a righteous life for our savior Jesus Christ.
In contemplation to the question what is a worldview and response to the questions that Dr. Henderson proposes in the presentation, I realize that with each person there could be innumerable answers. However, through my personal introspection, I contend that while society, culture and educational formation does play a significant role in forming our worldview, the major constructs of our worldview comes from our parents, community and the media until we begin to form our own be they biblical or remain based on a secular point of view.
There are several aspects to consider when exploring the Christian worldview. There are many facets or denominations and they each have their own distinct beliefs and practices, but they all share the same fundamental beliefs. In this Paper we will explore the character of God, His creation, humanity and its nature, Jesus’ significance to the world, and the restoration of humanity, as well as my beliefs and the way that I interact with Christianity and my personal worldview.

My task in establishing a worldview seemed daunting until reviewing, “I believe God is the source of all truth”(Hindson and Towns). This inspired me to not worry and focus on God’s message to me. In studying and researching I discovered Romans is the New Testament’s most important book. A worldview is a particular philosophy of life or conception of the world. Everybody has their own opinion of a worldview. To me, a worldview is the perspective in which one person views the world. Norman Geisler and William Watkins see a worldview as this, “A worldview is a way of viewing or interpreting all of reality. It is an interpretive framework through which or by which one makes sense of the data of life and the world.” When they say “an interpretive framework” they are talking about seeing a worldview as a pair of glasses. When you put on your pair of glasses you see the world clearly. When you put on someone else’s glasses you may not see things as well as they see them. If the prescription for the glasses is someone else’s, then you would more than likely see through them distortedly. Now if you have the proper prescription, the glasses will help you see the world clearly. This is analogous to worldviews. Prescription glasses can either hurt or help your eyes, as your worldview will either hurt or help your mind as it tries to understand the world. If your worldview shows the truth of God’s Word, then that worldview will help you see the world clearly as it is supposed to be seen. If your worldview is that there is no belief in God, then when you look at the design in nature, you have to see something other in design. You have to see an accident that happens to look like a design. Just an example; when you look at Mount Rushmore, do you see design, or do you see an accident? You have to see design, because there is no way that the rocks that are carved out of Mount Rushmore just had accidentally happened. Recognition of a person’s worldview can be found based on one’s answer to several reality questions surrounding God (origin), human nature (identity), reality (meaning/purpose), after life (destiny), values (morality or ethics). My own definition of worldview is a set of beliefs about the most important issues in life and my reaction to them. Today’s society consists of many worldviews. Most people tend to pull beliefs from different religions, but often stick to one main worldview. A worldview to me is the gathering of beliefs that shape what we do on a daily basis and forms our overall view on life. When I look at my beliefs critically, I am able to see my worldview and see how it compares to different worldviews, but also how it compares mainly to the Christian Worldview.
God, Humanity, Christianity and Restoration are four points that will be addressed as the most significant parts of my worldview. The Christian or Biblical worldview is based on the word of God. When the word of God is the foundation of your everyday life. Believing that Jesus is the Lord not only at our time of death but through every aspect of our lives. We believe that we are all created from God and follow the word and fellowship beside him.
