What is an American What is an American, people ask themselves several times. An American is having your own freedom, meaning choose in what you want to believe in or how you want to live your life. An American is something that can be defined and explained in various ways. Often people call Americans lazy, obnoxious, rude, etc. While many can be defined by this statement, it cannot be applied to the majority. Believing in this idea, and having faith in the system to follow through on this commitment, is what it means to be an American. Can American be defined as a patriot? This relates to being American, by how she tried to fit in like others as an “Japanese-American”. This defines American by not being judgemental or racist.
