Being an outsider is being different than everyone. Being a rebel. Being a menace to society. Being yourself and not caring about what the outside world thinks of you. You being yourself, an original person. For example, when my group of friends did not like any of the things that I did. The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is a novel based on a group of teenagers who are in a gang that call themselves “Greasers”. This group is fighting another group of people who call themselves the “Socials” Socs for short, but things take a drastic turn when murder gets involved in the equation. Ponyboy is a character in the book that is very outspoken. He is the youngest in his family and he goes through a lot during this short period of time. There was a time in my life when I too felt like an outsider. During this time, my group of friends did not like any of the things that I did. I would have tried my best to be there friends to be able to prevent myself from going on a long journey which would ultimately be a guilt trip. Even though this incident led to something that I will not regret I could have handled the situation better than I did before. I could have prevented all of this just by not being so unacceptable to others and having them accepting my decisions. Also, by accepting their decisions.
